Boyd
Derdall, the president and founder of Rain Maker, has over three
decades of experience in the irrigation business.
Rain
Maker was chosen to work in conjunction with the Canadian Government
on a number of projects to provide irrigation design, consulting
and installations in Iran, Libya and Egypt.
Mr. Derdall traveled to Iran several times to
design many different projects for the government of Iran as
well as the private sector. The largest of these was called
The Megon Project. He accompanied Samy Watson, Deputy of Agriculture
and Agri-Food Canada, to
Iran in October of 2000.
|
Mr.
Derdall traveled to Libya in 2001 to assist with The Great Man-Made
River Project in the Benghozi Plain Region. He also designed a project
of 6,087 ha (15,041.1 acres) of pivots and lateral move systems
on the Al Khadra large farm area.
His
latest venture to Egypt was in February of 2005. The project,
through the Federal Government, involved erecting a solar powered
pivot system with engine, pump and PVC pipe for the National Water
Research Centre in the Southern Egypt Development Project.
There will be future projects in the Middle East when the situation
is more stable.
